Letter in Support of NH HR24

The New Hampshire legislature is considering a resolution that urges Congress to impeach Bush and Cheney. More info here:

Here is a letter I wrote in support of this action:

Please support HR24, which urges Congress to impeach Bushy and Cheney.

The President and every elected American official takes an oath to protect and defend the Constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic.

When there is strong evidence that the President has failed in his oath of office then Congress has the power to impeach. With that power comes a responsibility to use that power when necessary.

When Congress fails to fulfill their oath of office by not impeaching then it is the responsibility of every elected official to defend the Constitution by petitioning Congress to impeach.

When almost every elected official seems to ignore their oath, with the exception of NH Representative Betty Hall and other patriots, then it is the responsibility of every American citizen to raise their voices and call for impeachment. That is why I am writing this letter.

For the Democrats to impeach the President they require three things. All of which they lack.

1. A legal case. "Misleading" the public is not in the same league as lying under oath before a judge. It does not rise to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors.

2. Votes. There are not enough members of congress that would vote for an impeachment resolution. The Democrats can't get enough votes to override a veto or pass any useful legislation. They would never get enough for impeachment.

3. Courage, or more appropriately - balls. Democrats simply have no stomach for a fight.

In response to Ron,

1. The legal case is overwhelming. Bush provided Congress with false evidence when justifying HJRes 114 (the authorization to use force). According to Founding Father James Iredell that is certainly an impeachable offense. Bush has also violated FISA laws, anti-torture laws. More at http://www.impeachbush.tv

2. Impeachment requires a simple majority and the Democrats have that. Bush cannot veto an impeachment.

3. True. The Dems are spineless.

This late in the game, I doubt we will see impeachment. The Democrats have made it very clear, that they will not impeach because they want to win the 2008 election by showing how much better they can be.

Well I'm no Democrat nor am I a Republican. I find both Parties are the left and right side of the same Party. The "GREED" party. They are too worried about their political ambitions and careers to do what is right.
